Army members will be more willing to go the extra mile for leaders whom they respect, and they are more likely to respect leaders who respect them. Sending Soldiers or DA Civilians into harm’s way to accomplish missions is always in tension with the desire to take care of people. Leaders display genuine concern by preparing subordinates through tough realistic training that prepares them for the hazards and dangers of combat.
